Nelson had the pleasure of representing at the Dell Children’s Hospital fishing event. The main purpose of the event is to introduce the children in the hospital to the world of fishing and get them outside when they may otherwise not have the opportunity to. A large tank was set up outside the hospital and allowed the children to catch live catfish using rods and reels donated by Cabela’s. Nelson’s Austin, TX branch made a contribution to the event and Nelson’s own Geoff Sterling helped volunteer.

“On a personal note: Every year I am able to participate, I have an experience I take home with me. Giving these families just a few hours away from stress of a dire situation has put into perspective a quality of life able to be shared by all.” – Geoff Sterling

Nelson was also recognized by the Board of Directors from Dell Children’s Hospital and were also mentioned many times as being a contributor towards the event by news and radio crews.
