Nelson Braves-The-Bay: Huge Success!

Members of Nelson Joe Madigan, Julie Kindell, Lucia Targett and Chris Pankey survived the Bay Area waters and were able to raise over $2,800! With their support they were able to help grant 13 wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation! Great job guys! Check out the picture below:

Southern California Teams

There have been a vast amount of community support from the Nelson teams in Southern California! Joan Van Donge and her teams participated in collecting beauty products for those at the Sarah House for end-of-life care. Joan said when they brought in the two fully packed bags of beauty products to the Sarah House, one of the residents there began to cry and told her “no one ever thinks those of us nearing the end of our lives want to look beautiful at a time like this. Thank you so much.”

They also donated toward Phase One (cancer research) for their Thanksgiving and Christmas fundraisers.

Orange County and San Diego offices helped those in need of professional work attire by donating work clothes to Working Wardrobes.

Great job combined by all of our Southern California offices!

Baby Blanket Collection: Close to 700 Blankets!

Update on the Sacramento team: Nadica Dunkhase was with Girl Scout Troop 1819 at Kaiser Permanente Roseville NICU unit delivering the baby blankets that had been collected. A combined effort between the Girl Scouts and Nelson clients collected close to 700 blankets! As they were delivering the blankets to the hospital, twin babies were born prematurely and would be spending time in the NICU, which the nurse notified Nadica and the Girl Scouts how the babies would benefit from the blanket donations. Nadica shared that the Girl Scout troop was quite overwhelmed with the experience and the nurses of Kaiser Permanente were so appreciative of their donations.

Here is a picture of Nadica with some of the Girl Scouts.
